I ordered this blu-ray player to replace an older model that was not blu-ray. I found this player very easy to set up, and it operates flawlessly. The picture quality on non-blu-ray discs is super - I can't wait to rent a blu-ray disc for comparison. It has way more features than I will probably ever use, and even included an HDMI cable which was a pleasant surprise.
Solid BR and SD player without unnecessary frills
I just bought this Sony BR player () to replace one of my two Panasonic BR players. During a time when so many Blu-Ray players stream Netflix, Blockbuster, etc., why would I want this one? I don't need streaming web videos and I don't need BD Live (which causes issues with many players). I have a PS3 that can do all of these things. What I needed was a BR player that would play discs with no issues, unlike my Pannys that choked on some regular DVDs an BR discs. This Sony plays everything the Panasonic didn't. Video and audio is excellent, AND upscaling of regular DVDs is excellent. The reviewer who claimed upscaling was terrible must either have his unit wired backwards or he must have a defective unit. I'd venture that it's the former. The ONLY negative of this player in my mind is that the remote doesn't have an "eject" button. But I'd trade great DVD playback any day, which this player has. Load time is acceptable. Very happy with this Sony.
Amazing what todays technology can accomplish.
Blu ray is amazing,and the set up is easy. Connecting to the internet makes for some great fun and technology on your TV.
Fairly good, but not great
About the blu ray playback, it is fairly good. DVD pic quality is also better than on a DVD player. But lack of basic features on remote (eject) is a bit of nagging..
BDP-S360 Eject feature
Some reviewers report the lack of an Eject button. True but not totally!
While this is true, the 360 is capable of Ejecting if you use a HARMONY Remote and
you configure the Eject command when setting up the HARMONY.
